My appointment was at 8:00 am for an oil change and tire rotation. My vehicle was not ready until after 9:30 which in my opinion was much too long for that type of service. Normally I’m in and out in 30-45 minutes. The biggest shock ame when the service adviser Brandy told me I should get a tune up since the odometer has rolled over 100,000 miles. I’m not having any issues with the way the engine is performing or with the gas mileage. I personally worked in a dealership service department many years ago and we never suggested any work unless there were indications that the work was actually needed. I inquired as to what the tune up consisted of and was told by Brandy that they would replace the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. The estimated cost was over $800. She said the parts would be around $575 and labor was around $295. I laughed and told her that was absolutely unbelievable. I have purchased 4 GMC vehicles at this dealership since 2003 and have had each of them serviced exclusively at the dealership and have always felt like I was being treated fairly. I have heard other friends and acquaintances remark about overpriced repairs at this dealership in the last year but until this happened i had somehow avoided it. I priced a tune up consisting of the same items at several other reputable shops and was presented with very reasonable prices. For now, I’ll continue driving my vehicle with my belief that if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. After this experience of poor customer service I will probably not return to this location as I would be afraid they would make sure something is broken. I have lost my trust of this location.
